Clinical credibility that comes from doing the job, not describing it.
Gemma trained as a surgeon — five years across general, vascular, upper-GI, hepatobiliary, urological and paediatric surgery, trauma and critical care, passing MRCS in 2007 — before moving into general practice (MRCGP 2014). That dual perspective shows in how she assesses risk: procedural rigour combined with whole-person, long-term care thinking.
She practises as an NHS GP partner, where she is clinical lead across two sites and governance lead — running significant-event analysis, complaints review and patient-safety processes — and has been a registered GP trainer since 2020, supervising trainees from ST1 to ST3.
As Clinical Director of a CQC-registered private clinic focused on menopause and women's health, she leads clinical governance, service design and prescribing pathways for modern menopause care.
For health-tech and healthcare businesses: Gemma provides the clinical safety case and specialist credibility; Adrian Whetton — Managing Director of the same CQC-registered clinic — provides CQC registration experience, pricing and go-to-market reality. One contract, both halves, from a pair who already run a regulated UK clinic together.
Engagements are scheduled around clinical commitments — sessional and flexible by design, with clear scoping up front. Rates on request.
